Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs)

onsemi Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs) are highly integrated solid-state power switches integrating gate-drive circuitry based on IGBTs or MOSFETs in a single module. IPMs also include protection for power systems from issues such as short circuits, under voltages, and extreme temperatures. IPMs using 600V IGBTs are used in consumer and industrial applications for driving fans, pumps, and compressors. IPMs using 40V and 80V MOSFETs are increasingly used in automotive applications to drive electric fans and pumps. 

Motion SPM® 45 Modules

onsemi Motion Smart Power Modules (SPM®) 45 are advanced motion modules that provide a very compact and high-performance inverter solution for AC Motor Drives. These modules combine low-loss short-circuit rated IGBTs and optimized gate drivers in a fully isolated package to deliver a simple and robust design. The SPM 45 modules offer high-speed built-in High Voltage Integrated Circuit (HVIC) that provides optocoupler-less single-supply IGBT gate driving capability.

Motion SPM® Modules

onsemi / Fairchild Motion SPM® Modules integrate drive and protection circuitry into a single package. These modules simplify and accelerate designs and optimize efficiency. The SPM modules are sometimes referred to as Intelligent Power Modules (IPM). A full line of highly integrated smart-power modules is available for a wide range of energy-savvy applications. The onsemi SPM modules provide solutions that drive efficiency, reduce board space, improve system reliability, and speed up time-to-market.

NFAQ1060L33T & NFAQ1060L36T Power Modules

onsemi NFAQ1060L33T and NFAQ1060L36T Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs) are fully integrated inverter power stages. These onsemi IPMs feature a high-voltage driver, six IGBTs, and a thermistor. The devices are suitable for driving permanent magnet synchronous (PMSM) motors, brushless-DC (BLDC) motors, and AC asynchronous motors. The IGBTs are configured in a 3-phase bridge with separate emitter connections for the lower legs for maximum flexibility in the choice of control algorithm. The power stage offers a range of protection functions, including cross-conduction protection, external shutdown, and undervoltage lockout. An internal comparator and reference connected to the overcurrent protection circuit allow the setting of the overcurrent protection (OCP) level.
