This solution allows designers to maximize application battery life while maintaining a high level of sensor accuracy. Two options are available to achieve this. First, keeping the sensor on to reduce the baseline sensor drift and enable a more accurate sensor reading, or second, putting the system into shutdown mode to save power. In both cases, the system will consume more power either by keeping the sensor on or during sensor startup.
