Microchip Technology MCP22301 USB PD Sink Board (EV71V36A)

Microchip Technology MCP22301 USB PD Sink Board (EV71V36A) was created as a compact, cost-effective USB Power Delivery sink solution. The board is based on the MCP22301 Stand-Alone Programmable USB Power Delivery (PD) Controller. The EV71V36A meets the criteria of the USB Type-C® connector and the USB Power Delivery (PD) 3.2 specification. Additionally, the board delivers a quick and easy way of replacing the standard power connector(barrel plug) in any application with a small form factor, reversible Type-C connector.

The Microchip MCP22301 bus-powered evaluation platform supports Dead Battery mode along with eight preset Power Delivery Objects (PDOs), selectable via the onboard rotary switch. It can also support unique custom-defined PDOs with additional configuration of the PDS, if required.

The available source capabilities and the negotiated voltage and current are displayed on the Graphic User Interface (GUI), utilizing the MCP2221A Breakout Module.
