Molex Mini-Fit Blind Mate Interface (BMI) Connectors
Molex Mini-Fit Blind Mate Interface (BMI) connectors support up to 13.0A for high-current and high-density applications. The connectors allow misalignment and provide a "float" of up to 2.54mm between mating surfaces for easy blind-mate connections. BMI connectors utilize both the Mini-Fit Jr. and Mini-Fit Plus terminals to support up to 9.0A or 13.0A. Many options are available, including through-hole, press-fit, or SMC headers and tin or gold terminals.
Features
- Self-aligning, blind mating interface where the panel mount housings are allowed to “float” within the panel cutout
- Polarizing retention pegs on headers ensure proper orientation on the PCB and then holds position during solder processing
- Polarized plug and receptacle housing geometries ensure the blind mate plugs and receptacles cannot be installed upside down in the panel cutouts
- Available in WTW, WTB, and BTB configurations
- Plugs, receptacles, and headers compatible with Mini-Fit® Plus terminals
- Through-hole, press-fit, and SMC manufacturing options
- Fully isolated header pins and plug/receptacle terminals protect contacts against potential damage during handling and mating
