Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MPQ8847A Automotive Step-Down Converters support up to 6A load current and feature an I2C control interface. The highly integrated, high frequency, synchronous step-down converter offers a 2.7V to 6V input voltage (VIN) supply range and superb load and line regulation. The device provides a constant-frequency hysteretic mode with an extremely fast transient response without loop compensation to achieve high efficiency under light-load conditions.The MPS MPQ8847A Automotive Step-Down Converters can control the output voltage (VOUT) via a 3.4Mbps I2C interface. The voltage range is adjustable from 0.6V to 1.235V in 5mV steps. The I2C interface configures the VOUT slew rate, switching frequency (fSW), and power-save mode. Full protection features include internal soft start, over-current protection (OCP), and thermal shutdown.
The MPQ8847A requires a minimal number of standard external components and is housed in a compact QFN-14 (2.5mm x 3mm) package.
