Seeed Studio Grove AS5600 Magnetic Rotary Position Encoder

Seeed Studio Grove AS5600 Magnetic Rotary Position Encoder is a programmable, 12-bit high-resolution, and contactless device with excellent reliability and durability. This Seeed Studio rotary position sensor offers no rotation angle limitation. The AS5600 position encoder can output RAW data through the I2C interface or the PWM wave/analog wave via the OUT pin. Typical applications include motor closed-loop control, robot arm, tripod head, and industrial machine control.

The Grove AS5600 encoder provides significant advantages over traditional potentiometer/encoders, including high precision, non-contact nature, and no rotation angle limitation. This magnetic rotary position encoder is based on the Hall effect and the built-in Hall sensor detects changes in the direction of the magnetic field. The magnetic field direction information is amplified and with the help of the built-in 12-bit ADC, the AS5600 module can output 4096 positions per round.
