STMicroelectronics STGAP2SiCD Galvanically Isolated Dual Gate Driver
STMicroelectronics STGAP2SiCD Galvanically Isolated 4A Dual Gate Driver is designed for galvanic isolation between each gate driving channel and the low voltage control and interface circuitry. The STGAP2SiCD gate driver is defined by 4A current capability and rail-to-rail outputs, ideal for mid and high power applications such as power conversion and industrial motor drivers inverters. The STM STGAP2SiCD 4A Dual Gate Driver features separated output pins that optimize turn-on and turn-off using dedicated gate resistors independently. This while the Miller CLAMP function avoids gate spikes during fast commutations in half-bridge topologies.
The STGAP2SiCD integrates protection functions with dedicated SD and BRAKE pins available. UVLO and thermal shutdown are included to design high-reliability systems efficiently.
In half-bridge topologies, the interlocking function prevents outputs from being high simultaneously, avoiding shoot-through conditions in case of wrong logic input commands. A dedicated configuration pin can disable the interlocking function to allow independent and parallel operation of the two channels. The input to output propagation delay results is within 75ns, providing high PWM control accuracy. A standby mode is available to reduce idle power consumption.
