Texas Instruments MAX3221E RS-232 Line Driver/Receiver

Texas Instruments MAX3221E RS-232 Line Driver/Receiver offers IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection and meets the requirements of TIA/EIA-232-F. This single-driver, single-receiver RS-232 solution operates from a single VCC supply and provides the electrical interface between an asynchronous communication controller and the serial-port connector. The MAX3221E device features data signaling rates up to 250kbit/s and a 30V/µs maximum driver output slew rate. The charge pump and four small external capacitors allow operation from a single 3V to 5.5V supply voltage range. The MAX3221E driver/receiver provides flexible control options for power management and an auto-power-down for power savings. Typical applications include industrial PCs, wired networking, data center and enterprise computing, battery-powered systems, PDAs, notebooks, laptops, palmtop PCs, and hand-held equipment.
