Würth Elektronik WR-FFC FFC & WR-FPC ZIF Connectors

Würth Elektronik WR-FFC Flexible Flat Cable (FFC) and WR-FPC ZIF Connectors reduce the size, weight, and assembly cost. These types of connectors are increasingly common in several applications, especially where a connection to a small display (screen) or keyboard is needed. WR-FFC cables offer pre-folded products that can be adjusted for different lengths. These pre-folded cables are available in 0.50mm and 1mm pitch in three lengths: 120mm to 200mm, 165mm to 350mm, and 280mm and 500mm.

ZIF connectors meet a combination of requirements such as low profile, lightweight, and a secure and removable connection. These connectors are used to attach wires to a PCB inside electronic equipment. The wires in the form of a ribbon cable are pre-stripped, and the bare ends are placed inside the connector. The movable part of the connector is then closed to ensure a firm connection. This one-connector solution does not require a mating part at the wire ends.

Würth Elektronik's family of WR-FPC products feature a back-lock dual-contact ZIF plug-in connector. The simple-to-use and tool-free locking concept ensure strong holding forces. Only 1mm thick, the extremely flat plug-in connector has contacts on its top and bottom surfaces for even more flexible printed circuits and flat-flex cables. These new ZIF connectors have a low profile shape to help save space.
