Texas Instruments ISO772x/ISO772x-Q1 Digital Isolators
Texas Instruments ISO772x/ISO772x-Q1 Digital Isolators are high-performance, dual-channel digital isolators with 5000VRMS (DW package) and 3000VRMS (D package) isolation ratings per UL 1577. These devices are also certified by VDE, TUV, CSA, and CQC. The ISO772x/ISO772x-Q1 isolators provide high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions at low power consumption while isolating CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/Os. Each isolation channel has a logic input and output buffer separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulation barrier. The ISO772x-Q1 devices are AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications. These isolators are used in DC-DC converters, on-board chargers, and Battery Management Systems (BMS).The ISO7720/ISO7220-Q1 devices have both channels in the same direction, while the ISO7721/ISO7221-Q1 devices have both channels in the opposite direction. In the event of input power or signal loss, the default output is high for a device without suffix F and low for a device with suffix F.
The device helps prevent noise currents on a data bus or other circuits from entering the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry when used with isolated power supplies. The electromagnetic compatibility of the ISO772x/ISO772x-Q1 devices has been significantly enhanced to ease system-level ESD, EFT, surge, and emissions compliance through innovative chip design and layout techniques.
